We began 2011 with beautiful snow falls in Charlotte NC where we spent Christmas with family. We had flown in before Christmas and delayed our departure due to Jim's stepdad's death just afterward. We almost didn't get out due to the snows. But plane service worked fine back to Phoenix.
We spent a very nice February and March in Florida, with HamCation and Florida State Rally in Feb then a great NOMADS project in Delray Beach in March. Delray was the perfect scene for starting our year-long emphasis on tennis improvement for both of us. We attended tennis academies in Boca, Hilton Head, and Saugerties NY, and played several times a week throughout the summer in Charlotte.
Why were we in Charlotte all summer? It just made sense -- we joined in the celebrations of Jim's mom's birthday, Deb's parents' wedding anniversary, and Jim's high school reunion, among other things. It was nice to be around family and friends this year.
September found us in Forest City Iowa for the annual NOMADS conference then a NOMADS project in Arkansas City Kansas. October we wound our way to Mesa AZ where we stayed the winter.
Ended up with a little over 8,600 miles towing in 2011 -- our lowest annual total so far and another good year finished in Mesa AZ for October through December 2011.
